PGMA, PLEASE DO NOT RESIGN!

March 2nd, 2008 by earlvincruz

Huwag mo kaming pakinggan.

Oo, lahat tayo corrupt.

Florida Caucus

January 29th, 2008 by earlvincruz

McCain has shown strongly in Florida. Guliani is rumored to not only
drop out but also to endorse McCain for president.

What a mess!

The Governor of Florida backed McCain two weeks ago, and now he is
being mentioned as possible VP for McCain.

Will any conservative vote for a McCain-Crist ticket? If not, as I see
it, can we bear either a Clinton or Obama in the oval office?

The only good point about McCain is he has historically, and I mean
that literally as he is as old as dirt, been a pro-lifer. Thats all I
have to offer for good in his possible presidency.

Stick a fork in me for I am done.

She Called…

August 18th, 2007 by earlvincruz

She called…

Blacks, Whites…wait
African Americans and Caucasians, Asians, excuse me.
Vietnamese, Philippino, Koreans and Jamaicans or
Haitans, waitin’ Hispanics y’all.

Please be paitent
Mexican, Puerto Ricans, Venezualean, Cuban, Dominican, Panamanian Democrats
I beg your pardon, you partied with the late, great Reagan?
Republican, Independent, Christian, Catholic,
Methodist, Baptist, 7th Day Adventist, 5 Percenters,
Hindu, Sunii Muslim, Brothers and Sisters who never seen the New York city
skyline when the twin towers still existed.
But still She called.

From the bowels of Ground Zero she sent this 911 distress signal.
Because She was in desperate need of a hero,
and didn’t have time to decipher what to call ‘em,
so she called ‘em all Her children.
The children of the stars and bars who needed to know nothing more than the fact that she called.
The fact that someone attempted to harm us
this daughter who covered us all with her loving arms.
And now these arms are sprawled across New York City streets.
A smoke filled lung, a silt covered faced,
and a solitary tear poured out of her cheek.
Her singed garments carpets Pennsylvania Avenue and the Pentagon was under her feet.
As she began to talk, she began to cough up small particles of debris
and said, "I am America, and I’m calling on the land of the free."
So they answered.

All personal differences set to the side
because right now there was no time to decide which state building the Confederate flag should fly over,
and which trimester the embryo is considered alive,
or on our monetary units, and which God we should confide.
You see, someone attempted to choke the voice
of the one who gave us the right for choice,
and now she was callin.
And somebody had to answer.
Who was going to answer?

So they did.
Stern faces and chisled chins.
Devoted women and disciplined men,
who rose from the ashes like a pheonix
and said "don’t worry, we’ll stand in your defense."
They tightened up their bootlaces
and said goodbye to loved ones, family and friends.
They tried to bombard them with the "hold on", "wait-a-minute’s", and "what-if’s".
And "Daddy, where you goin?".
And, "Mommy, why you leavin?".
And they merely kissed them on their foreheads and said "Don’t worry, I have my reasons.
You see, to this country I pledged my allegience
to defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic.
So as long as I’m breathin, I’ll run though hell-fire,
meet the enemy on the front lines,
look him directly in his face,
stare directly in his eyes and scream,
"I AM AMERICA! WE WILL NOT BE TERRORIZED!
WE WILL NOT BE TERRORIZED!
I REFUSE TO BE AFRAID!
I’LL FIGHT YOU ANY COUNTRY, ANY CONTINENT, ANY TERRAIN.
I’LL FIGHT TO MY LAST BREATH!"

And if by chance death is my fate,
pin my medals upon my chest,
and throw Old Glory on my grave.
But, don’t y’all cry for me.
You see, my Father’s prepared a place.
I’ll be a part of his Holy army standing a watch at the Pearly Gates.
Because freedom was never free.
POW’s, and fallen soldiers
all paid the ultimate sacrafice
along side veterans who put themselves in harms way.
Risking their lives and limbs just to hold up democracy’s weight,
but still standing on them broken appendages anytime the National Anthem was played.
You see, these were the brave warriors that gave me the right
to say that I’m Black. Or white.

Or

African American or Caucasian,
I’m Asian, excuse me.
I’m Vietnamese, Philippino, Korean, or Jamaican.
I’m Haitan, Hispanic

Y’all, Please be paitent.
I’m Mexican, Puerto Rican, Venezualean, Cuban,
Dominican, Panamanian, Democrat
I beg your pardon, you see I partied with the late, great Reagan.
I’m Republican, Independent, Christian, Catholic,
Methodist, Baptist, 7th Day Adventist, 5 Percenters,
Hindu, Sunii Muslim,

Brothers and Sisters We’re just Americans.
So with that I say
"Thank You" to the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines,
for preserving my rights
to live and die for this life
and paying the ultimate price for me to be…FREE!

Appeasers

August 4th, 2007 by earlvincruz

Those who would trade our freedom for the soup kitchen of the welfare state have told us that they have a utopian solution of peace without victory. They call their policy "accomodation." And they say if we only avoid any direct confrontation with the enemies, they will forget their evil ways ang learn to love us. All who oppose them are indicted as warmongers. They say we offer simple answers to complex problems. Well, perhaps there is a simple answer–not easy anwer–but simple.

If we have the courage to tell our elected officials that we want our national policy based upon what we know in our hearts is morally right. We cannot buy our security, our freedom from the threat of the bomb by committing an immorality so great as saying to a billion now in slavery, "Give up your dreams of freedom because to save our own skin, we are willing to make a deal with your slave masters." Alexander Hamilton said, "A nation which can prefer disgrace to danger is prepared for a master, and deserves one." Let’s set the record straight. There is no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there is only one guaranteed way you can have peace–and you can have it in the next second–surrender.

Admittedly there is a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson in history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face–that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight and surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand–the ultimatum. And what then? Someday when the time comes to deliver the ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary because by that time we will have weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically.

We know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. If nothing in life is worth dying for, when did this begin–just in the face of this enemy? Or should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots at Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard ’round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn’t die in vain. Where, then, is the road to peace? Well, it’s a simple answer after all.

We have the courage to say to our enemies, "There is a price we will not pay." There is a point beyond which they must not advance. Winston Churchill said that "the destiny of man is not measured by material computation. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we are spirits–not animals." And he said, "There is something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty."

We have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on Earth, or we will sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.

God Bless America

November 4th, 2006 by earlvincruz

Three more days and we will have the mid-term election. When voting, keep the terrorists in mind. Who do they want to win? What party do they want to control the House of Representative and the Senate? The party of the appeasers, or the party who will stand against the threat of evil? Also, keep president Lincoln in mind. Remember that he is now considered as one of the greatest presidents of the United States, but during his time, he actually had only 24% approval rating. Keep Winston Churchill in mind too. They called him crazy when he thought that Hitler was a threat. He was hated around Europe because they thought that they could work with Hitler, and he couldn’t. Churchill said, "An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile–hoping it will eat him last." He was absolutely right.

———————————————————————————————-

Now, in keeping with the emerging trend, I would like to be patriotic during this election season.

So, here’s goes nothing…

I have been criticized for being "too pro-America" (or sometimes even "too pro-Bush").

First of all, I don’t think I’m pro-Bush. I think Bush is pro-me. I don’t think the way I think because of Bush. I like Bush because he thinks the way I think. I don’t always agree with the man, especially his decision to give the contract to protect our eastern ports to a company owned by Dubai. But, if I were the president, I would do most of the things he had done, attack Afghanistan, attack Iraq, try to reverse Roe v Wade, veto the embryonic stem cell bill that was passed by both the house of representative and the senate, ban same sex marriage, etc.

Now, going back to my being too pro-America. How can you blame me? I came here when I was nineteen, when my dad got tired of me getting into too much trouble in the PI. I overstayed. At one point in my life (for exactly two weeks), I lived in a brokedown car on the streets of Los Angeles. I was literally a bum. Nope, I did not hassle for money, but I know I would have if I stayed longer. With the grace of God, He turned my life around. Last week, I just got my bachelors degree, cum laude. And, two weeks before that, I was promoted as accounting manager of a $75 Million company. Now, tell me where on earth can a person do that? Only in America. No, these things did not happen because I’m good. I know I’m not good. Many times I would love to take the credit and feel like knocking all the buttons off my shirt. But then I realized who and where to give credit to. Aside from the support of my family, I know that I can only attribute what happened to God, the creator of all, and to the greatest nation on earth, the United States of America.

Now, am I wrong for loving this country too much? I don’t think so.

But, you know what’s wrong? I think it’s wrong when immigrants come here and try to change this country. It’s wrong when people come here and disrespect this country’s tradition and values. It’s wrong when people from third world countries come here, make some money, get comfortable and call this country a rogue nation. It’s wrong when the president of countries like Iran and Venezuela call our president the "devil" and immigrants give them a standing ovation. It’s wrong when people line up to get an American visa, and once they are here, they hate everything about this country.

We are the most hated country in the world, yet more than half of immigration every year will come to this country.

Think about this! Can an illegal immigrant in China go out on the street and demand that the government change its law to accomodate his illegal status? Can anyone do that anywhere in the world? Of course not, except in America. If Mexico is really pro immigration, why are they deporting thousands of illegals from south America back to their country?

Here’s more! Have you gone to a party where you actually bad-mouthed the host of the party in his own house? How dare you if you do! Well, Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Amanidejad did just that. A few blocks from the site of the World Trade Center, they cursed and said all kinds of profanities to our president and our people. They can do that because of our freedom. The very same freedom that these two presidents do not provide their people with.

God bless America.

Concerts

November 6th, 2005 by earlvincruz

Rolling Stones or Side A Band? This was my dilemma last Friday. I had two tickets to the Rolling Stones and free entrance to the Side A Band (they are being managed by my friend’s dad, so it’s automatic entry).

So who did I watch? I decided to go to the Stones concert, since it was held just a mile from my office at Edison Field in Anaheim (where the Anaheim Angels play). It was a good decision because I sat on the third row from the front, although I would rather be in the infield like some of my friends. Oh, well, at least it was not a nose-bleed like some of my other friends.

Well, what can I say? It was chalked with full of hits like, Start Me Up, Brown Sugar, Paint it Black, Ruby Tuesday and, of course, Satisfaction. Mick sounded like he did in his albums. Ronnie and Keith were great. It was definitely one of my favorite concerts ever. From start to the time I left, I loved everything about the show. The staging and the set were visually stunning, and added to the music, rather than detract from it. The use of images on the big screen completely enhanced the experience, and made the stadium feel much smaller. I was completely sucked in from the beginning.

Unfortunately, I did not finish the concert. I left thirty minutes before the end of the show. My wife and kids called me on my cell phone, telling me to come home. So, I did, but not until I heard “Satisfaction.”

Postcript: At one point, the security reprimanded a guy who was dancing on the dugout roof, while they did not say anything to another guy next to him who was smoking weed. Tsk! Tsk!
